Where finance meets the real world

I am Aiswarya Menon. I work closely with businesses on their accounting and finance workflows, sitting at the intersection of finance, systems, and real business operations.

Over time, I've had the opportunity to observe how different businesses — small and growing — manage their books, GST, and day-to-day financial operations.

Most financial challenges are not about lack of effort. They're about lack of clarity in systems.

I'm particularly interested in how finance, systems, and operations come together in real-world scenarios. I enjoy breaking down complex financial problems into something more practical and manageable.

My goal is to step into a Finance Executive role where I can apply this ground-level understanding to help businesses build reliable, scalable financial processes.

clarity

The gaps growing businesses face

These aren't rare edge cases. They're patterns I see repeatedly across businesses of all sizes — and every one of them has a solution rooted in better systems and clarity.

Books out of sync with bank balances

Reconciliation is treated as an afterthought. Unreconciled entries accumulate and distort the true financial picture, rendering decisions unreliable.

GST compliance as a recurring bottleneck

ITC mismatches, missed deadlines, and manual data entry create unnecessary strain. Compliance should be systematic — not a crisis managed at month-end.

Inventory and accounting operating in silos

Sales, stock levels, and the books remain disconnected. The result is reporting that does not reflect operational reality and decisions made on outdated figures.

Reports produced but not acted upon

Financial reports are generated regularly, yet rarely interpreted. Data exists — but the context to make it decision-ready for leadership is absent.

Bridging the gap between data & decisions

I'm using this space to share observations from working directly with business workflows, practical insights around accounting and GST, and thoughts on how businesses can build better financial systems.

If you're a business owner, operator, or someone interested in how finance works behind the scenes — this is for you.

Cash flow vs profit — the confusion that costs businesses

One of the most common misunderstandings in small business finance. Being profitable on paper doesn't protect you from a cash crunch.

Why Your Profit & Loss Report May Be Misleading You

The Right Moment to Move Beyond Spreadsheets

Spreadsheets are not inherently wrong. But there is a clear inflection point where they begin costing more than they save — and recognising it matters.

Finance isn't just about numbers. It's about creating the clarity that allows businesses to make confident decisions — without guessing.
